It's a challenge for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The highest peaks have already been conquered.

This is the squad that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the record chasers, are what's still available for a team that has achieved everything.

The fact it required until Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the largest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a tribute to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It's challenging for their batsmen to maintain a record if not provided the opportunity.

In the end, the result of Australia conceding 330 was leader Alyssa Healy receiving a platform to deliver her latest masterpiece.

Originally famous as the young family member of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after Australia couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has seen it all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 championship victory happened three months after her first appearance and seven international trophies have resulted from 10 efforts across formats.

The tough gloveman was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India momentarily interrupted the successful run.

That loss "drove us to rethink our standards," Healy commented earlier.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the championship match and was named player of the tournament. She guaranteed her country would not fail again.

The question of whether this newest brilliant performance surpassed that earlier display is debatable.

Some will argue the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the test that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What is certain is this hundred was far harder to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this knock followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"For those following me in practice sessions, it's been a challenging time because it seemed I lacked timing whatsoever," stated Healy.

"Yet the moment you enter the playing area, your fighting spirit activate and you simply focus on the competition."

Healy's fighting spirit has continuously been her key asset - and an irreplaceable characteristic in replacing legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, out to the emerging pace bowler in each encounter, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's inspiration.

A single came off Gaud's first delivery and from that point the batsman was underway.

"An opportunity to play and face the challenge with her and merely enjoy the moment in that aspect, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her fastest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 deliveries while she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three big hits.

By the time she was dismissed her side required another 66 at one run per ball - an unconquered height now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Chasing 330 runs is new territory so I'm happy we have the assurance to achieve that now," added Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, if we do, we are confident we can do it."

These statements will be the last Australia's opponents at this World Cup need to hear.

During the last week a sense they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this victory following success over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

It was in the semi-finals they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a game Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she led her country for the inaugural occasion at an important competition.

Such is her determination, she afterwards commented she wanted to have participated with the discomfort.

Yet even as she subsequently acknowledged those physical issues have delayed plans to retire, this tournament is anticipated as her final tournament as skipper in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as leader.

Triumph in India would bring her to the top of her final mountain.
